1. May I see your profile?
Her portfolio will give you a good indication of her versatility and style. Are all the faces made up the same like a cookie-cutter, or has she brought out the best in each face?
Will she follow your style requests and welcome input from you and your bridal party? After all, this day is about YOU, not her portfolio, career advancement or ego.
2. How long does your makeup session usually take?
You want to ask this question as it’s important in the planning of your day. (eg. What time should you be ready at, etc)
If your makeup artist can’t give you a timeframe or if she takes over 2 hours , that’s a long time to be sitting in a chair!
3. What are your charges? Are there any additional costs involved?
You might want to ask the makeup artist if there are any additional costs for things such as eyelashes, door to door service, transport fee, ampoule, touch ups or additional charges if the artist stays throughout the ceremony, particularly if it is not clearly stated on the offered package.
You should be clear what you are paying for before you pay the deposit. Not all surprises are good (especially when it is related to money!)
4. How much do you plan to charge for the Trial service or is this included in your services?
If you want a makeup trial before your big day, you want to be clear of if the trial service is included as part of the offered package or will be charged separately.
5. Will it be YOU at my wedding or another artist? What happens if you can’t make it on my big day?
Do clarify this with the makeup artist you have booked if the artist is the one that will be showing up on your big day.
Do especially take note , when a makeup artist webpage includes the word ‘team’. Also, remember to check the terms & conditions as it may clearly state they might not be the artist that shows up on your big day so you will want to double check.
